Scrabble notes for the day:
- "DUNG," strategically placed, scored Chase 46 points.
- Were it not a proper noun, "PEQUOD" could have been placed on the board by Glynnis, earning her 20 points with a double-letter-score on the "D."
- "KAZOO," played by Glynnis, was worth 38 points.
- "KAZOO" with an additional "S" was worth 19, also to Glynnis.
- The word "LI" was discovered by Carolyn. It means: a traditional Chinese measure of distance, today standardized at 500 meters (547 yards).
- Hannah placed an "X" on the board in a triple-letter-score space, and spelled "EX" and "OX," which earned her 50 points.
- Said "X" was originally attempted in the word "OXES" (which, it should be noted, is not the plural form of "OX")
In other news:
Today I was asked to verify the fact that I am human. See for yourselves.
[A NOTE FOR LIZ: the obsessive amounts of Scrabble are on your account. Carolyn decided to beef up so that she might beat you, and I got dragged into it -- her logic being that you did the same to beat Katie, who did the same to beat Abernathy. Thus, if she were to beat you, she would be capable of defeating Abernathy. A tournament of some kind is to be expected.]

Welcome to the past, bucko. You're swimming through the archive of rocket-fish.org. If this isn't where you were headed, I suggest you get out of here while there's still time.

it should be noted that: a) i've only beaten katie once and she was slightly tipsy and b) i don't think katie has ever beaten 'bernathy, and c) i think katie was good at scrabble before she knew 'bernathy existed...
however, i accept all challenges and will be home after next thursday, at which point i will totally whip out my scrabble dictionary and play anyone within a hundred mile radius of where i stand.
